Hi! I'm the Rural Doula
Rita Power

I am a Mum to two wonderful, and very active little girls, Isla and Molly. Further keeping me on my toes, I am a dairy farmer's wife and do all the calf rearing.

With formal training, as an antenatal and postpartum doula (through the Doulaversity Training Program) I offer comprehensive support to families. In a past life I was a Secondary Teacher, teaching Health and PE. I have always had a passion for people, wellbeing and babies. When not juggling my girls, or helping on the farm, you may find me back in the classroom with the odd day as a reliever.

My love for pregnancy, birth and babies has been with me for as long as I can remember. As a teen, I'd be glued to One Born Every Minute, and as an adult, I got hooked on the Kiwibirth Tales podcast.

Having my own babies deepened my passion. Supporting my friends and family during their journey to parenthood filled me with joy. I've channeled these experiences, tailoring the lessons I've now learned - and that postpartum wisdom - into nurtured guidance and support for new parents. From a listening ear, extra pair of hands or simply someone to chat with, I'm here for you and your family.
